Covid-19 Update: December 22nd, 2020 Provincial Shutdown

So, good news and bad news from this latest move to help prevent the spread of this scourge of a virus. The good news, massage therapy, acupuncture and chiropractic are still operational after December 26th. Unfortunately, Osteopath and Reflexology will not be able to operate during the shutdown. The government had to draw the line somewhere, so they decided on “Regulated Health Practitioners”. Unfortunately, while osteopath and reflexology have strong associations, they do not as yet have a professional college.

We are able to stay open so long as we continue to follow the “Health Sector Restart, Directive 2” from the Ministry of Health. This is the guidelines we followed when we reopened our clinic after the initial shutdown.

We have lots of infection control standards in place at the clinic. We have adopted a ‘NOT the minimum’ mindset here at the clinic, and are going above and beyond the expected standard and implemented full time additional precautions. Here’s partial list of things we’re doing to keep everyone that comes here as safe as possible:

-Full contact tracing

-Restricted access enclosure inside the front door

-Online and at door Covid questionnaire

-High contact surfaces cleaned after every patient visit when possible

-Mask wearing policies

-Hand washing policies

-Social distancing policies, even between staff members

So, please book yourself in to see us!

All the best,

Matthew Colavecchia, R.Ac. and Clinic Director
