Some people walk across hot coals to gain spiritual insight. They're called firewalkers.
But what if every step you took was painful. No hot coals needed.
We exhaust and abuse our feel all day long until they are swollen and throbbing for our attention. Sure we've all hobbled around the room cursing a stubbed toe. Or bandaged blistered heels. And most days all the love they get is the occasional bit of polish (ladies) or clipped nails (gents).
But what if you have so much pain you start dreading the anticipation of your feet hitting the floor?
Custom made orthotics might be the solution you're looking for.
What if you could walk your way to no more foot pain
or knee pain
or back pain
would you take the first step?
Custom made orthotics provide a platform for you to stand on. They correct your gait and put your foot in the most efficient position to minimize muscle fatigue.
So you can sashay across the floor of your office or kitchen or wherever the mood strikes you - and it might - now that your feet, knees and back are feeling this great.
Orthotics can help with the following dance-inhibiting conditions:
- Achilles Tendonitis
- Illiotibial Syndrome
- Morton's Neuroma
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Runner's Knee
- Sacroiliac Syndrome
- Shin Splints

How much does it cost?
Your first pair of custom-made orthotics is usually about $400 dollars.
2. Is it covered by my insurance?
Orthotics are usually covered by insurance companies. However, it will depend on your particular plan so check with your insurance provider first.
All insurance companies will require “proof of manufacturing” which we supply when your orthotics are delivered.
3. Do I need a prescription?
All insurance companies require a prescription for custom made orthotics. Our chiropractor Dr. Jay can give a prescription in most cases.
4. Am I doomed to wear ugly shoes forever?
Nope. Though you’ll find your orthotics may not fit into every shoe and we advise you to take them shopping with you when the need for a new pair arises.
Ladies, I know what you’re thinking. What about sandals? Will I never wear another sexy, strappy sandal again? Good news, you can get orthotics ground into them. We need to know the EXACT make and model of the sandal you’ve fallen in love with. Then we arrange everything and get them made through our supplier The Orthotic Group.
5. Do I have to wear them ALL day long?
Yes, you should wear them all day long. The popular analogy is that orthotics are like glasses. You see clearly when you wear them and the world’s a blur when you don’t. When you wear your orthotics your foot is properly aligned and your muscles are in the best position to work for you. When you take them off you body reverts to its former lazy, painful, inefficient way of doing things.
6. Is there an adjustment period?
Yes, while it should never be more painful to wear your orthotics than to go without, it does take some time for your body to adjust to a new way of moving.
We recommend wearing them for 1 hour the first day. And increasing an hour/ day until you’re wearing them all day long.
7. Should I get a second pair?
We do recommend that you get a second pair. If you order the second pair of custom orthotics at the same time as your first it’s only $150.
8. How long do they last?
Usually, a good orthotic can last for about 2 years. But this depends largely on how they’re used. Eventually, the materials will crack or fatigue. Just like you eventually have to replace your shoes for the same reason.
9. How do you take the mold of my foot?
We use Gait ScanTM technology from The Orthotic Group. It’s an innovative digital casting device. It analyzes your biomechanics with over 4000 sensors at a rate of 300 frames/ second. Fancy isn’t it? It’s considered an industry leader in dynamic scanning.
This means with Gait ScanTM we use the latest technology to do an in-depth assessment of the way you walk. And we gain far more information than could ever be obtained from the naked eye.
Bottom line: it’s a more accurate diagnosis for you.
10. How long until I receive my orthotics?
It usually takes about 2 weeks.
11. What if I’m not happy?
All of our custom-made orthotics are covered by The Orthotic Group’s Total Orthotic Coverage Warranty. Membership is valid for 2 years and runs concurrently with your 3 month Patient Compliance Guarantee and 6 month Material and Workmanship Guarantee.
If you opt for the Total Orthotic Coverage Warranty and your orthotics are lost, stolen or severely damaged the cost of a replacement pair is only $50.

Disclaimer: our orthotics are fabulous but they won't actually make you a better dancer. For that you'll need classes and we hear there are some great ones around town.
